70 Austrian tourists visit the city, while a “Capital” bus promotes the area across borders

Pordenone welcomes a group of more than 70 Austrian tourists who arrived in the city as part of an initiative promoted by PromoTurismoFVG in collaboration with the Municipality of Pordenone, Federalberghi and Consorzio Pordenone Turismo, as part of the city’s journey towards becoming Italian Capital of Culture 2027. It is an important opportunity to showcase the beauty of the city and, more broadly, the entire provincial area to an international audience, thanks to the collaboration with the Austrian tour operator Sabtours.
This morning, the tourists attended a concert at the Casa della Musica in Piazza della Motta, before taking part in the official welcome and institutional greetings. Speakers included Alberto Parigi, Councillor for Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Pordenone, Dr. Stöttinger, CEO of the Austrian tour operator Sabtours, and Dr. Hehenberger, Product Manager at Sabtours.
The highlight of the morning was the inauguration of the Sabtours bus branded “Pordenone 2027”, which from today will travel across Europe, carrying the name, image and message of Pordenone, Italian Capital of Culture 2027. The inauguration ceremony was accompanied by a blessing given by Father Orioldo Marson.
The group will stay in Friuli Venezia Giulia for several days, following a programme that, in addition to a visit to Pordenone, includes stops in Sesto al Reghena, Valvasone and Sacile. The itinerary demonstrates how the journey towards 2027 can serve as an important driver for promoting not only the city, but a wider area capable of offering visitors a rich and diverse cultural and tourism experience.
The aim, therefore, is to continue turning the visibility generated by the 2027 initiative into concrete opportunities to discover and visit the area, positioning Pordenone as a starting point for exploring a rich and diverse territory and strengthening its presence in international tourism networks.
