ART MUSEUM – PALAZZO RICCHIERI

Mario Moretti. L’estro disciplinato dall’arte. Pitture, sculture, disegni.

8 July – 21 September 2026

From 8 July to 21 September 2026, Palazzo Ricchieri hosts a retrospective devoted to Mario Moretti (1917–2008), painter, sculptor and ceramic artist. The exhibition explores the artist’s most intimate dimension, focusing in particular on his preference for landscape painting, developed through solitary and attentive observation of the world around him. His vision stems from an inner reality capable of processing and transforming the initial inspiration. The exhibition programme includes guided tours and workshops for families. On 4 September at 6:00 p.m., the exhibition catalogue will be presented. On the afternoon of 10 September, a free course in narrative medicine will take place as part of the “La Cultura che Cura” project included in the Pordenone 2027 dossier.

 

Icons of Art

October 2026

In October, Icons of Art returns, an important event for the entire region. Organised in collaboration with the Naonis Cultural Association and the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo, the exhibition is dedicated to promoting young artists under the age of 35. It features mosaic portraits created by students of the School as part of the Mosaic Young Talent competition, together with the winning portraits from previous editions.

 

Fuoriserie

7 November – 27 December 2026

From 7 November to 27 December 2026, Palazzo Ricchieri hosts the first museum solo exhibition devoted to Pordenone photographer Francesco Dolfo. The exhibition brings together two seemingly distant worlds: contemporary interiors captured through photography and the spaces of a historic residence, now transformed into a museum. Past and present do not stand in opposition. Instead, they recognise one another through a shared language: the experience of inhabiting spaces as a cultural, aesthetic and deeply human expression.

 

SILVIA ZENARI NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

 

Silvia Zenari – La memoria degli erbari

5 September 2026 – 31 January 2027

From 5 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, the museum named after the scholar presents a documentary exhibition devoted to Silvia Zenari (1895–1956), a geologist and botanist from Pordenone who graduated from the University of Padua, where she embarked on a distinguished academic career. Seventy years after her death, the exhibition tells the story of Silvia Zenari through an engaging and contemporary visual language. Historical photographs, documents, publications and herbarium sheets are enhanced by multimedia tools and specially created installations. MThe exhibition is organised in collaboration with the Botanical Museum and Botanical Garden of the University of Padua. The opening, with free admission, will take place on Saturday 5 September at 5:00 p.m.

 

Agrosfera

From 4 September 2026

Agrosfera is a widespread photography exhibition that will open on 4 September at Spazio Foto Casa Zanussi, continue from 17 September to 18 October 2026 in the galleries of the Natural History Museum, and then move to the Livio Poldini Magredi Centre in San Quirino and the Town Hall of Cavasso Nuovo. The photographic exhibition is part of the national Agrosfera project and is curated by Circolo Fotografico L’Obiettivo, a member of the National Federation of Photographic Associations (FIAF). The project highlights both traditional and innovative activities in the agricultural sector, telling the stories of women and men in Friuli Venezia Giulia who have dedicated, and continue to dedicate, their lives to the land, crops, livestock farming and the revitalisation of mountain areas. Particular attention is given to the preservation of traditions and the development of innovation.

 

The Museum Renewal

The Mineral Room is also scheduled to be redesigned. The new display will become part of a narrative journey designed to communicate not only the beauty of minerals, but also their value as raw materials in the world of art and technological applications, with particular attention to the region’s extractive activities. A section will also be dedicated to the geology of the Tagliamento and Noncello rivers, natural symbols of the local area.

 

WESTERN FRIULI ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

 

Un tesoro da scoprire tra passato presente e futuro. 20 anni del Museo Archeologico del Friuli Occidentale

11 September 2026 – 31 January 2027

From 11 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, the Western Friuli Archaeological Museum celebrates the twentieth anniversary of its opening to the public. The exhibition retraces the history of the Museum and Torre Castle through photographs and previously unpublished documents. It also pays tribute to Count Ragogna, the last descendant of the firstborn branch of the ancient Counts of Ragogna family. An archaeologist, scholar and researcher, Count Ragogna stipulated in his will that the family castle should become the home of the Museum. Today, the Museum houses the results of his research together with historical evidence from the surrounding area. The opening, with free admission, will take place on Friday 11 September at 6:00 p.m.

Until 4 October 2026, the exhibition retraces eighty years of activity of the newspaper Il Messaggero Veneto and, in parallel, the history of the community it serves. Enlarged historical photographs and front pages illustrate the profound journalistic and social changes that have taken place throughout this long period.

 

Giocare seriamente. Mostra sul libro d’artista di Magda Starec

11 September – 11 October 2026

From 11 September to 11 October 2026, the Library presents a selection of works by Trieste-born artist Magda Starec. The exhibition offers an important opportunity to explore the multidisciplinary dimension of the artist’s book, bringing together visual arts, poetry, typography, craftsmanship and design in an open and interdisciplinary language. It is an invitation to slow down, turn pages and read with both eyes and hands what often escapes words.

 

C’era una volta un pezzo di legno. Pinocchio e Carlo Collodi nel bicentenario della nascita

18–20 September 2026

From 18 to 20 September 2026, in the Library cloister, the Pordenone Philatelic and Numismatic Centre presents a philatelic and cultural exhibition dedicated to Pinocchio and its author. The exhibition marks the bicentenary of the birth of Carlo Lorenzini, better known as Carlo Collodi, and has been created by Prof. Fabrizio Fabrini. Through postage stamps, this original narrative and documentary journey explores the origins, dissemination and international success of The Adventures of Pinocchio.

 

Linguaggio liquido

16 October – 7 November 2026

From 16 October to 7 November 2026, the Library hosts an exhibition of artistic ceramics by Gianna Albertin, curated by the Media Naonis Cultural Association. Through the manipulation of materials, the artist creates works that become three-dimensional narratives of perceptual and emotional experiences. Her creations feature original structures and rich symbolism, engaging viewers and opening up new interpretative horizons. The exhibition explores language not only as a means of communication, but also as an object through which reality can be represented: a system of symbols capable of describing objects, concepts and relationships with the world.

 

PALAZZO DEL FUMETTO (MUSEUM OF COMIC ART)

 

Toppi. Le profondità verticali

Until 4 October 2026

Until 4 October, the Comics Museum presents an exhibition dedicated to one of the greatest masters of Italian comics, featuring more than 100 original plates. As always, the exhibition is the result of critical and scholarly research aimed at revealing the distinctive characteristics of the great Milanese artist’s visionary and dreamlike art.

 

Per filo e per segno

17 October 2026 – 29 March 2027

From 17 October 2026 to 29 March 2027, the Comics Museum broadens its horizons by turning to the illustrated art of vintage posters, largely from the Salce Collection Museum in Treviso. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through twentieth-century fashion, alongside the story of Luciano Savio, a highly accomplished figure from Pordenone who helped shape the history of fashion through the industrial production of textile machinery by the company bearing his name, which went on to become a world leader in the sector.

The Comics Museum also pays tribute to Luciano Savio through the creation of an original comic aimed at younger generations and beyond.

 

Eronda! Il mondo di Eronda

11 September – 1 November 2026

From 11 September to 1 November 2026, the rooms of Villa Galvani host a retrospective devoted to Eronda, a Veneto-born illustrator who created many highly successful characters during the 1960s. The exhibition rediscovers a great artist who has perhaps been somewhat forgotten.

12 November 2026 – 3 January 2027

From 12 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, renowned writer and screenwriter Carlo Lucarelli retraces the comics that accompanied him throughout his career—and even before he became Carlo Lucarelli.

 

CASA ZANUSSI – GALLERIA SAGITTARIA

 

Guido Cecere. Wunderkammer

September – November 2026

From September to November 2026, the retrospective photography exhibition Guido Cecere. Wunderkammer, co-published with the Antonio Zanussi Cultural Centre, explores the work of Guido Cecere (1947–2019): photographer, teacher, designer, visual artist, curator and art critic. The exhibition highlights the connections between photography, graphic design, design and communication through visual materials preserved in his archive, which will provide numerous previously unpublished works for the occasion. The exhibition is among the projects selected by the Municipality of Pordenone as part of the public call “Verso Pordenone 2027”. The opening will take place on Saturday 12 September at 5:30 p.m.

 

VILLA CATTANEO

 

Ugo di noi

October – December 2026

From October to December 2026, Villa Cattaneo hosts an exhibition curated by Circolo Culturale Eureka, as part of the “Un’eredità fuori dagli schemi” project. The project focuses on the multifaceted figure of Ugo Tognazzi and his ideal connection with Fabrizio De André and Paolo Villaggio.It consists of three complementary initiatives: the exhibition Ugo di noi; a multimedia and interactive journey exploring the man, the artist and the “sociologist” of the post-war period; and the multidisciplinary performance “La Favola…”, together with related events and thematic conferences designed to stimulate debate on the relationship between culture and society in the twentieth century and today. The exhibition presents an unprecedented version of two commemorative exhibition projects—the centenary of Tognazzi’s birth and the fiftieth anniversary of Monicelli’s masterpiece, in which Tognazzi was one of the leading actors—enriched by exclusive archival materials. Organised in collaboration with the Ugo Tognazzi House Museum in Velletri, the Experimental Cinematography Centre and the Cinema a Pennello Museum, it is the most comprehensive exhibition ever held in Italy devoted to the great actor.

Friuli 1976/2026. La bellezza salvata

Until 25 October 2026

Until 25 October 2026, the Diocesan Museum hosts an unpublished photography exhibition which, fifty years after the earthquake that struck Friuli Venezia Giulia, explores the beauty of the region’s cultural landscape and the way it was marked by the disaster. Emptied and devastated churches, broken sacred objects and images of a vulnerable beauty tell the story of sacred works of art, liturgical furnishings, ecclesiastical vestments, books and archival materials which, thanks also to the efforts made to recover and preserve them, have been “saved”. The exhibition is among the projects selected by the Municipality of Pordenone as part of the public call “Verso Pordenone 2027”.

From 8 October to 10 November 2026, the collective of young artists and scholars “Artisti per il Domani” presents an exhibition aimed at promoting the emerging art scene and strengthening its connection with the local area.

Between October 2026 and February 2027, the ground-floor exhibition space hosts a rotating series of exhibitions curated by Giorgio Altio, featuring works by artists from Pordenone and the surrounding area.

ART MUSEUM – PALAZZO RICCHIERI

 

Luigi Zuccheri

17 January – March 2027

From 17 January to March 2027, the exhibition presents the work of Luigi Zuccheri in an organised and systematic manner. At its centre is an exceptionally coherent collection of around 70 previously unpublished works, focused on the artist’s relationship with nature. The paintings transform the naturalistic dimension into a vehicle for intense symbolic tension, populated by silent protagonists—the animals—within rarefied and essential landscapes.

 

Sagittaria 60

April – June 2027

Between April and June 2027, the Art Museum is one of the venues for the exhibition celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of Galleria Sagittaria. The exhibition brings selected works from the collection owned by Fondazione Concordia 7 to various locations. Palazzo Ricchieri will host a selection of paintings by artists active in Pordenone and the surrounding area during the second half of the twentieth century. The Foundation’s collection includes highly prestigious names such as Mirko Basaldella, Corrado Cagli, Franco Dugo, Angelo Giannelli, Marcello Mascherini, Mario Moretti, Armando Pizzinato, Virgilio Tramontin, Nane Zavagno, Giuseppe Zigaina and Luigi Zuccheri.

 

Ferite

September–October 2027 – January 2028

Between September–October 2027 and January 2028, the major exhibition Ferite will take place between Pordenone and the Bishop’s Palace in Portogruaro, in collaboration with the Venezia Orientale Tourist District. The exhibition explores wounds, suffering and hope by bringing works by artists such as Lucio Fontana, Emilio Vedova and Giuseppe Zigaina into dialogue with ancient paintings. The exhibition investigates how the experience of wounds has been translated into art, both in modern times and in the past.

 

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

 

Flums

February – March 2027

From February to March 2027, the exhibition by artist Giuliano Sacchero presents a series of abstract paintings devoted to the rivers of Friuli Venezia Giulia. From the Tagliamento to the Isonzo, and from the Natisone to the Noncello and Meduna, the rivers become energy, matter and colour. Sacchero does not paint water alone, but the vital force that flows through it, in what the artist himself calls an “emotional geography”.

 

Cronache dal profondo

April – October 2027

From April to October 2027, this visual exhibition is presented as part of “Maredirefare – Festival dell’Oceano”, based on an idea by the WWF Miramare Marine Protected Area and the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Research (OGS). The exhibition combines the visual language of art with that of science to explore the wonders and mysteries of the deep sea. It creates a fascinating dialogue between art and science, offering a new perspective on the world of the ocean depths. The exhibition will be accompanied by numerous related events aimed particularly at families, including workshops and games organised by the WWF Miramare Marine Protected Area.

 

Una vita da scienziata

30 October 2027 – 5 March 2028

From 30 October 2027 to 5 March 2028, the exhibition conceived and curated by Fondazione Bracco presents the faces and expertise of leading Italian women scientists. The women featured are protagonists of the “100 donne contro gli stereotipi” (#100esperte) project, created to promote female expertise in fields still perceived as predominantly male. The series of portraits, created by photographer Gerald Bruneau, helps challenge prejudices in scientific practice by portraying biologists, chemists, engineers, astrophysicists, mathematicians, veterinarians and computer scientists in their workplaces, laboratories, universities and clinics. These are the places where women and men work every day to push back the boundaries of knowledge.

 

WESTERN FRIULI ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

For 2027, the Western Friuli Archaeological Museum presents two particularly intriguing exhibitions, offering visitors the opportunity to discover and imagine how the people of the Pordenone area lived in prehistory and protohistory, long before the arrival of the Romans.

 

I guardiani del focolare. Terrecotte domestiche dell’età del Ferro nel Caput Adriae

February – August 2027

From February to August 2027, the first archaeological exhibition presented by the Museum in many years focuses on a subject that remains largely unknown to the general public: a class of richly decorated terracotta artefacts used in homes 3,500 years ago. The exhibition focuses in particular on the area between eastern Veneto and western Friuli, with connections extending beyond the borders of north-eastern Italy. Visitors will be able to see large ovens, hearth objects such as braziers and firedogs, as well as enigmatic “monstrous” artefacts whose function remains uncertain. The exhibition explores the techniques used to make these objects, their uses and the rich decorative features that turned them into genuine artistic furnishings.

 

Il villaggio neolitico del Palù di Livenza

Second half of 2027

In the second half of 2027, the exhibition focuses on one of Friuli’s most important archaeological sites: the pile-dwelling settlement of Palù di Livenza. For the first time, the public will be able to discover the numerous finds brought to light through research conducted under the direction of the Soprintendenza at this site. Palù di Livenza forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage series of Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps, together with eighteen other sites distributed across Veneto, Piedmont, Lombardy and the Autonomous Province of Trento. Thanks to the numerous artefacts made of wood and fibres, visitors will be able to explore the everyday life of a Neolithic community that inhabited the foothills of western Friuli.

 

GALLERIA BERTOIA

Due sguardi

2027

During 2027, Galleria Bertoia hosts the presentation of a photographic campaign on the city of Pordenone and its inhabitants. The project is part of the “Pordenone 2027. Città che sorprende” dossier and has been created in collaboration with CRAF in Spilimbergo. The two photographers, Paolo Pellegrin and Camilla Ferrari, represent two different visual approaches and two distinct artistic paths, differing in background and style. Together they create a two-voice visual narrative that combines traditional photography with contemporary media.

 

CIVIC LIBRARY

Dal visibile all’invisibile

January – February 2027

From January to February 2027, the exhibition Libri d’artista in stoffa by Gianna Maria Stellino and Ritratti fotografici by Chiara Giachi, created in collaboration with the Aladura Association, brings together two different yet complementary languages: the tactile quality of the cloth book and the presence of photographic portraits. The exhibition explores the twelve archetypes of the inner journey proposed by Carol S. Pearson. The symbolic object of the book and the human presence of the portrait engage in dialogue, with the aim of revealing what is universal, invisible and shared within individuals.

 

Pordenone Montanari. Scrivere ritratti

February 2027

In February 2027, the Civic Library will be one of two exhibition venues, together with Galleria Sagittaria, for an exhibition paying tribute to Americo Montanari. The exhibition forms part of a series devoted to local artists, past and present. In collaboration and continuity with Galleria Sagittaria, the Library presents large-scale paintings donated to the Municipality of Pordenone by the artist’s widow, Flavia Cappellari.

 

Pordenonesi a Roma nel XVI e XVII secolo

September – October 2027

From September to October 2027, the exhibition project curated by the Eventi Association and the Centro Studi Odoriciani aims to highlight the contribution of figures originating from or connected with the Pordenone area who worked in papal Rome between the late fifteenth and seventeenth centuries. Books, archival materials and documents will come from the Vatican Apostolic Library and the Vatican Secret Archives.

Dino Buzzati. Poema a fumetti – Orfeo

14 January – 11 April 2027

From 14 January to 11 April 2027, the exhibition is devoted to the graphic novel created by writer Dino Buzzati: an oneiric journey through a comic that has become iconic.

 

Fiaba libera tutti

17 April – 16 May 2027

From 17 April to 16 May 2027, an exhibition organised in collaboration with the International Children’s Illustration Exhibition of Sarmede, curated by Melarancia.

 

Progetto Galvani

29 May – 13 June 2027

From 29 May to 13 June 2027, the exhibition presents works by the Galvani Art High School in Cordenons, giving students the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Comics Museum.

 

Blues

1–25 July 2027

From 1 to 25 July 2027, an exhibition curated by Vintage Authority explores the world of blues and rock guitar. The exhibition will be accompanied by masterclasses and seminars held as part of the Pordenone Blues Festival.

From 31 July to 29 August 2027, an original collection by Giuseppe Collovati, known as Zellaby, presents a compilation of portraits of people from Pordenone spanning the last forty years.

4 September – 1 November 2027

From 4 September to 1 November 2027, in collaboration with the Salce Museum in Treviso, an exhibition curated by Ariel Brandolini explores the similarities between comic-book characters and vintage posters.

 

Immagina

5 November 2027 – 9 January 2028

From 5 November 2027 to 9 January 2028, the Comics Museum presents an exhibition created in collaboration with the Immaginario Scientifico in Trieste, Pordenone branch. The exhibition offers a surprising exploration of the moment when nature becomes drawing.

 

CASA ZANUSSI – GALLERIA SAGITTARIA

Sentieri illustrati

The international exhibition of children’s illustrations returns. Each edition features illustrators capable of attracting audiences both young and old, while also representing a major attraction for schools thanks to the workshops and activities offered as part of the programme.

 

Pordenone Montanari. Scrivere ritratti

In the early months of 2027, continuing the exhibition of the same name at the Civic Library, Galleria Sagittaria presents an exhibition dedicated to Americo Montanari, known as “Pordenone” (1937–2025). The exhibition features a series of drawings made between 2022 and 2025, mostly in pen. They depict portraits and self-portraits through the distinctive and sustained development that is also characteristic of Montanari’s literary writing.

April – September 2027

Between April and September 2027, Galleria Sagittaria celebrates sixty years of exhibition activity by displaying selected works from the collection of Fondazione Concordia 7 at various venues across the city. In addition to the gallery itself, the participating venues include the aforementioned Civic Art Museum – Palazzo Ricchieri, the Diocesan Museum, the Teatro Verdi, where works by Carmelo Zotti and Gian Carlo Venuto will already be on display from January, and Fondazione Friuli. The collection of Fondazione Concordia 7 includes highly prestigious names such as Mirko Basaldella, Corrado Cagli, Franco Dugo, Angelo Giannelli, Marcello Mascherini, Mario Moretti, Armando Pizzinato, Virgilio Tramontin, Nane Zavagno, Giuseppe Zigaina and Luigi Zuccheri.

September – November 2027

From September to November 2027, Stefano Ciol, like his father Elio, presents the work of one of the rare photographers capable of reading a work of art in depth and turning that reading into a true interpretation. Through specially created large-format images, Ciol focuses on the fifteenth-century painter Gianfrancesco da Tolmezzo and his frescoes, which have profoundly shaped the cultural landscape of the area east of the Tagliamento. The exhibition will also be presented at a second venue: the Diocesan Museum.

September – November 2027

From September to November 2027, the exhibition presents the photographs that Elio Ciol has devoted over the years to the sixteenth-century paintings of Pordenone. The exhibition continues and complements the presentation hosted at Galleria Sagittaria.

Donne e motori, gioie e basta

May 2027

In May 2027, Palazzo Gregoris hosts the travelling exhibition curated by Maria Leitner, journalist and presenter of the “Motori” segment on TG2. Over the years, the exhibition has involved female entrepreneurs, researchers and women working in a wide range of fields. The initiative aims to challenge outdated clichés and stereotypes associated with the world of motoring, promoting gender equality and cooperation between men and women for change. Particular attention is devoted to education in schools and families as a means of overcoming stereotypes that are still widespread, even if sometimes in less visible forms. The opening of the exhibition will be accompanied by an event dedicated to the role of women in Italy today.
