‘Pordenone Musei’ steps into the future: new website, social media, and AI at the service of culture online

18/08/2026

A new web portal, a presence on social networks, and a generative artificial intelligence system to showcase the city's cultural heritage. The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Pordenone is presenting the new digital ecosystem of Pordenone Musei, a project aimed at making the discovery of the city's artistic, historical, and scientific heritage more accessible, engaging, and innovative. The new website, www.pordenonemusei.it, is not just a showcase for the museums but a real digital infrastructure designed to enhance the cultural heritage through tools created for different audiences: citizens, students, families, tourists, and enthusiasts. The initiative is part of the journey that leads Pordenone towards the title of Italian Capital of Culture 2027, with the goal of building a system meant to last beyond this important milestone.

The website becomes the single access point to the city’s museum network. In addition to the Pordenone civic museums, it also includes Palazzo del Fumetto and Museo Diocesano d’Arte sacra, offering a complete overview of the area’s cultural offerings.

Users can check information about the museums, plan their visit with a single ticket – which can be purchased online or at participating locations – and choose from various themed routes focused on architecture, street art, and places connected to the painter Giovanni Antonio de’ Sacchis, known as Il Pordenone.

There’s also plenty of space dedicated to events, with a constantly updated calendar of guided tours, workshops, meetings, openings, and cultural initiatives. The portal also includes a section dedicated to other exhibition spaces in the city, such as Villa Cattaneo, Immaginario Scientifico, Galleria Sagittaria, Mercati Culturali Pordenone, and Palazzo Gregoris.

Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Cultural Promotion

One of the most innovative aspects of the project is the use of generative artificial intelligence to create content for various communication channels. The design of the AI system was handled by Luca Vescovi (Jampaa.it), while Miriam Danelin worked on the project’s narrative and visual identity. The development of the portal was entrusted to Prodigys, who also produced the photography and video content dedicated to promoting the museum network.

At the heart of the whole ecosystem is Heritage Hub, the platform developed by the Friulan software company Real Comm, which organizes museum data, collections, events, routes, and services in a structured way. Through the proprietary gateway AIGWay, compatible with numerous language models, the system can generate news, social content, and multilingual informational materials directly from the available cultural data.

The project emphasizes a fundamental principle: artificial intelligence doesn’t replace human work, it enhances it. The content produced by the platform actually comes from the expertise of professionals in communication, design, technology, art history, archaeology, and semantics, who built the informational and linguistic heritage on which the AI operates.

A new communication also on social media

The integrated communication strategy was developed by Pop Com Studio, which defined the identity, language, and editorial plan for the new digital channels, collaborating with Real Comm on building the semantic model used by artificial intelligence.

The project coordination for the Municipality of Pordenone was handled by engineer Marco Malandrino, head of Information Systems.

Alongside the new portal, Pordenone Musei also makes its official debut on Instagram and Facebook (@PordenoneMusei), where updates, curiosities, insights, and content dedicated to the city’s cultural heritage will be shared, aiming to engage an increasingly wide audience and strengthen the dialogue between museums, the territory, and the community.
